Access to Books and Education a Fundamental Right for Children and Youth, Regardless of Their Background or Circumstances.

The launch of the “A Fidel Mobile Reading Center” project in Gambella, Ethiopia has been met with great enthusiasm and support from both privet and government entities. This innovative project aims to provide children and youth, including those who are refugees, with access to books, as well as empowering them with necessary life skills through workshops and training sessions.

The initiative was brought to life through the collaborative efforts of FBCO, in partnership with Gambella the Bureau of Women and Social Affairs, Gambella Regional State Sport Commission, Gambella City Administration Office, Gambella University and Gambella Business community, Religious leaders, and Community Leaders. The project has brought together expertise, resources, and funding to create a sustainable and much-needed initiative that is set to change the lives of many children and young people in Gambela.

The pilot project has already achieved significant success, and future plans include expanding the infrastructure and digitalization tools to ensure it meets international standards as well as replicating the project in other regions. The “A Fidel Mobile Reading Center” project is a clear indication of the positive impact community-driven initiatives can have on individuals’ access to quality education, regardless of their backgrounds and circumstances.
